Weekly Meetings The syllabus is structured to cater for a wide variety of photographic interests. Society evenings include:- lectures by experts in a diverse range of photographic fields, practical demonstrations of technique, viewings of top quality prints and slides, inter-club events, etc. After the ‘main event' there is time for a drink at the bar and a friendly chat with fellow photographers, who will offer advice and encouragement.
Practical Instruction PPS actively encourages members to develop and print their own work. This allows you full creative control over your photograph. To achieve this aim members can take advantage of tuition in darkroom techniques, using the Society's facilities. Competitions A popular feature of the syllabus is the monthly competitions held between the society members. There are categories for workers in Black & White Prints, Colour Prints, Slides and Digitally Derived Images. Theme and Set Subject competitions are also held. Participation is optional, but many find the judge's comments to be very useful in helping to improve their photographic skills. Membership You are free to attend three meetings before you are asked to join. The fee is around £30 for the year.
