I agree with Andrew in that the evening was uplifting, enthralling and completely inspiring. There were so many images from the peaks of the mountains and munros of Scotland that one became blasé about how much effort would have been required in order to capture perhaps just a handful of images per trip. It was only when Colin actually pointed to his tent that was pinned down 3000ft+ on the side of a mountain did it remind you.

Colin's delivery of his presentation was entertaining mixed with some education about the locations of his captures as well as a few humorous stories thrown into the mix. Overall a wonderful presentation delivered and the images of the mountains were of the highest quality available. It is little wonder why Colin is considered one of the finest landscape photographers in the world and to have been fortunate enough to win his wonderful book entitled 'High Light' as first prize in the raffle simply was the icing on the cake for me.

Huge congratulations to Andrew for the original desire to hire Colin as well as his efforts through the organising process and to those who made the evening possible from those on the committee to the members who sold tickets on behalf of the club. Everybody had a role to play and it is all appreciated. Of course many thanks to those who attended from the various photography clubs to members of the general public and the staff of UCLan (University of Central Lancashire) for attending as paid spectators.

Here's to many more lectures of this calibre for the future.

Kind regards Melvin Nicholson

Excellent evening, Iain was a great speaker and it was fascinating to see how a busy picture desk functions and the decisions they have to make. Really enjoyable lecture.
