Mick and I ventured into Yorkshire last week to shoot Grimwith Reservoir in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.  Leaving Preston at 3.30am, we arrived in plenty of time to set up by the water and wait for the light to materialise.  We were rewarded with lovely weather until we left for Ingleton Falls at 11am.

Grimwith Reservoir was well below its capacity and the sink hole building (that allows for excess water to drain away) showed the waterline being 7 metres lower than full capacity.

We had an enjoyable morning wandering around the huge derelict farmhouse that appears to have laid idle for decades as well as the unusual rock formations that lined the inlet of the reservoir.  There was also a lovely thatched roofed stone hut that nestled alongside the bank of the water and it made for a pleasing interest to shoot.

See what you think and comments please if you wish.

Some interesting shots Mel,  I liked the first earth samples and the thistle best.  I think you were a  bit off with your colours, one of the Grimwith reservoir shouts had far too blue  water.

I agree Ian, I think that I've ramped up the water too much and left the sky alone.  I think my laptop needs calibrating as well, lol.
