Each month a new thread will be opened up for the competition entries to be posted in.
Competition entries can be posted for the first 25 days of the month, after which the competition thread will be locked and a second thread will be opened up for the remainder of the month containing an anonymous poll.
Each member will then be able to place one anonymous vote for the image they think should win - regardless of whether they themselves have entered or not.
At midnight on the last day of the month, the polling will cease and the results of the poll will be displayed.
The winner's award is the great honour of choosing next-month-but-ones' competition theme.
Rules:
1. You can only enter one photo per month.
2. The photo has to be taken in the time between the topic being announced and midnight on the 25th of the month - when the posting ends. You can't enter any photos that were taken before the announcement of the theme.
3. The file size of the photo has to be less than 128Kb.
4. The dimensions of the photo must be less than 750 pixels wide, and less than 600 pixels high.
5. Photos exceeding the size limitations will automatically be deleted.
6. As well as the photo, you need to post the title of the image, the date it was taken and the basic camera settings.
7. You aren't allowed to vote for your own entry!
8. If there is more than one winner i.e. a tie for first place, the honour of choosing next-month-but-one's topic goes to the person whose last win was longest ago.
9. New rules will be added as and when members point out issues I've not thought about.
