Summary
This event is designed to promote printing your images, competitions and distinctions to club members who might not normally get involved in the Federation annual competitions.
The event is open to all L&CPU club members who do not currently hold any photographic qualifications or accreditations.
All those submitting entries are requested to observe the spirit of the competition, otherwise the event fails to achieve its objective and may well discourage genuine novices from entering future events.
There is one open section where you can showcase your A4 or A3 unmounted prints.
There is a Club award for the highest scoring club and an Individual award for the best image

Competition Rules
This competition is open to members of L&CPU clubs, which Preston is a part of, the category is "Open Print" so you can enter any type of image you like.
Each club entry will consist of:

- Minimum 10 unmounted prints and Maximum 20 unmounted prints per club
- There should be no more than 3 images from from any one member
- Only top 10 scores per club will count for club trophy (eg if your club enters 15 prints the top 10 highest scores will count towards The Novice Cup trophy)
- All images must be from club members who do not currently hold any photographic qualification or accreditations
- Images must not have been previously awarded in any national or international salon or PAGB & L&CPU competition
- Images entered in this competition are eligible for L&CPU Annual Club and Individual competitions in the future, if they meet the criteria of the competition.
- Images entered into this competition are not eligible to be entered into the same competition at a later date
- Club members may only enter images for one club
- Only bona fide members of that club may enter
- Images entered must be entirely the work of the stated photographer
- An image (or one significantly similar) must not have been entered into any L&CPU Bob Robinson Trophy previously
- Images constructed from or that include royalty free/copyright free/fully or partially AI generated images are not acceptable and will be disqualified

PDI's
- PDIs (Projected Digital Images) must be within 1600 px (horizontal) x 1200 px (vertical) in jpeg format, in sRGB colour space (including mono)
- The entry system will not accept a file size of more than 2mb
Prints
- Prints can be A3 or A4 size, unmounted
- A digital file of each print must be uploaded to the portal (see 9 PDI’s for more information)
- Print labels generated by the portal must be affixed to the back of your print entries, on the top right-hand corner; these contain a barcode which is used in the administration of the competition. All other labels on the back of the print should be removed or blanked to make them unusable.
- A copy of the club entry form must be included within your print box, along with the prints
- The L&CPU delegates decisions on eligibility to the discretion of each event organiser
Guidelines
- Entries can be made by Club Competition Secretaries, via the L&CPU Information Portal online competition entry system.
- Colour and monochrome versions from one image will be considered the same image, unless the artistic treatment is significantly different
- Images entered with the same title, by different authors, are always different images
- Manipulated images are welcome, provided the author has carried out the manipulation
- Nature rules do not apply to images entered into this competition, where pictorial composites are permitted
- AI generated images are not accepted as part or whole of an entered image. AI tools may be used to select/enhance an image
- Entry infers that the L&CPU have the right to display digital versions of any image in L&CPU publicity, including the L&CPU website and Focal Points
- It is the responsibility of all trophy winners to ensure the return of trophies, clean and in good time for the following years’ competition
