Summary
12 camera clubs from the ICPA entered the competition which was held via Zoom on 10 February 2021.
We finished 2nd, with Bury on 40 points, the winners being Chorley with 50 points.

Competition
- Knockout over circa 7 rounds
- Clubs submit 11 images with the last one being a tiebreaker, only to be used in a the tie is for 1st place.
- Images eliminated in Round 1 score 2, Round 2 score 3 and so on. A winner was selected from Round 7, which is the last 3 images, and that image alone got the top score of 10 points.

This competition (and our entry) was carried over from March 2020 when the pandemic forced the last minute cancellation.
Consequently our entry was drawn from the monthly competitions preceding February 2020.
Images from 10 different members were submitted, namely Paul Yates, Andy Phillips, Robert Turley, Ann Edwards, Iain Jack, Ian McGill, Helen Hatch, Ryszard Kosik, Harry Mountain and myself.

Results
Round 1 - 65 images eliminated, 2 of ours. Each eliminated image scored 2 points. We lost Iain’s ‘Times are a changing, plastic doesn’t belong’ and Robert’s ‘Goshawk with prey’.
Round 2 - 14 images eliminated, 1 of ours. Each eliminated image scored 3 points. We lost Andy’s ‘Glencoe dawn’.
Round 3 - 17 images eliminated. 4 of ours. Each eliminated image scored 4 points. We lost Tim’s ‘Dangerous position’, Paul’s ‘Marvin’, Ian’s ‘ Ruby throated humming bird’ and Harry’s ‘Big Don’.
Round 4 - 12 images eliminated, 2 of ours. Each eliminated image scored 5 points. We lost Helen’s ‘Between the Lines’ and Ryszard’s ‘ North pier Blackpool’
Round 5 - 5 images eliminated.
Round 6 - 4 images eliminated. 1 of ours. Each eliminated image scored 7 points.
Round 7 - overall winning image was selected from the 3 remaining.
Consequently we scored 40 points, i.e. - 4 + 3 + 16 + 10 + 7.
We had 7 images left in Round 3, i.e. the last 41 which was great. 3 of these got through and the judge was clearly undecided about whether or not to progress a couple of the others but decided against.
Our top scoring image which made it through to the final 7 images was - Contemplating by Ann Edwards.
A really interesting night. Well judged by Keith Barber, who must have had a hell of a job doing it ‘on the fly’. There were many lovely images and none of ours looked out of place. Chorley were worthy winners.
