The Melbourne Cup is a photographic ’ashes’ battle between ourselves and Preston Photographic Club (PPC) of Melbourne Australia.
It is held annually with the clubs taking it in turn to host it.
The competition was first held in 2014 and, to date, we have fared well although the scores are always close.
There are no restrictions on genre, it’s an open competition so nature restrictions for example do not apply.
Rues are confirmed every year but typically there are 25 Projected Digital Images (PDIs) per club, with no more than 2 or 3 from any photographer and all images must be new to the competition. Images tend to be scored out of 15 or 20 depending on who hosts the event and the judge.
