Competition
Knockout over several rounds, the number of which is decided on the night depending on how ruthless the judge is. Images are eliminated at each stage.
Clubs submit 8 images with the last one being a tiebreaker. The number actually used varies depending on the volume of clubs and we don’t know until the night.
Images eliminated in Round 1 score 1, Round 2 score 2 and so on. A winner was selected from the final round and that image alone gets the top score.
New work only from current club members, i.e. no previous entry to any L&CPU competition.
The first 4 images for each Club have to be from different photographers and no more than 2 images from anyone in total.

Results
- 4 images from each club were judged making 168 in total.
- The judge had an unenviable judge of getting through all those, particularly as the technology let us down for a while and delayed the start.
- There were 7 rounds this year, an overall winning image was selected from those in Round 7.
- We lost 1 image in Round 1, another image in Round 2 and another image in Round 4 and the last one in Round 6.
Congratulations to Iain Jack whose entry made it to R4 and Mick Porter whose chaffinches squabbled their way through to R6 and so nearly went all the way.
Nice to be back at an event in person after last year’s Zoom competition. There were many good images and some really outstanding ones, particularly in Nature. Having said that none of ours looked out of place.
Finally, thanks to Andy Philips for joining me in representing PPS on the night.
